Salted Chocolate Chip Skillet Cookie
Ingredients
- ½ cup unsalted butter
- ¾ cup packed light brown sugar
- ¼ cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1¼ cups all-purpose flour
- ½ teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon kosher salt
- 1 cup semisweet chocolate chunks
- Flaky sea salt
Instructions
- Heat the oven to 350°F. Melt butter in a 10-inch oven-safe skillet over medium-low heat. Remove from heat and whisk in both sugars until smooth.
- Let the mixture cool for a few minutes. Whisk in egg and vanilla until glossy.
- Stir in flour, baking soda, and kosher salt just until no dry streaks remain. Fold in most of the chocolate chunks, saving a few for the top.
- Press the dough evenly into the skillet and scatter remaining chocolate over it. Bake until the edges are golden and the center still looks slightly soft.
- Sprinkle with flaky sea salt. Let cool briefly, then serve warm with scoops of vanilla ice cream.
