It’s sometimes hard to find a unique addition for a potluck, a picnic, or a gathering in your home. Bacon pickles are “finger food” and something you don’t see very often. You can use sweet pickles, but dill is traditional.
The type of bacon you choose helps create unique flavors. Ideas include
- Cracked pepper
- Maple
- Cherry
- Hickory smoked
- Applewood
- Turkey
These disappear quickly, so you may want to make a double batch. It’s wholly understandable. You have dill and bacon crisped to perfection.
Tip: Use regular-cut bacon and pre-cut pickle spears to save time.
What about dips? Perhaps
- Dill dip (double the flavor)
- Ranch
- Cucumber Ranch
- Dijon Mustard
- Garlic Aioli
- Chive and Sour Cream
