There are times where it can feel like there are too many liqueurs out there to try,
and it’s hard to figure out which ones are actually worth buying. If you are unsure
about a new product, go to a bar you like and ask the bartender if you can pay to
sample a few small sips of a few spirits or liqueurs. Crème de Cassis liqueur,
made with blackcurrants, is an incredible product. This simple cocktail features
notes of blackcurrant, accented by some dry champagne and a dash of orange
bitters.
This following recipe makes 1 cocktail.
Chilled Champagne with Crème de Cassis Liqueur
Ingredients
- 1 oz Crème de Cassis Liqueur
- 4 oz Champagne (chilled)
- 1 dash of Orange Bitters
Instructions
- Prepare a chilled champagne flute.
- Add the chilled champagne, along with the Crème de Cassis liqueur and a dash of orange bitters on top.
- You can stir this up if you like, but I like watching the interaction of the ingredients in the champagne flute as the liqueur falls to the bottom of the glass.
- And it’s a fun alternative to the traditional mimosa.
- Serve cold.
