Sangria is an effervescent Spanish wine that can be made with red or white wine, but it’s really best with red as the flavor of the fruit and liqueur really comes through better in the flavor profile. The recipe will make about 4 servings, or you can double it for more! This is the perfect entertaining cocktail!
Ingredients
-1 medium apple, chopped into small pieces
-1 orange, thinly sliced
-1 750 ml bottle of red wine (cabernet sauvignon, merlot, or pinot noir)
-1 cup orange juice
-1/2 cup brandy
-2/4 cup triple sec liqueur
-2 tablespoons of brown or white sugar
-Ice
How to Prepare the Sangria Mix
1. In a pitcher, stir together red wine, brandy, triple sec, orange juice, and sugar.
2. Once combined, add the chopped apple, and sliced orange.
3. Add a generous amount of ice, stir.
4. Fill serving glasses with ice, and pour sangria.
5. Garnish with orange slices or oranges on a stick if desired.
