Lime & Orange Gimlet
This cocktail adds a hint of orange zest and some fresh orange juice to the traditional lime-based Gimlet. The following recipe makes 1 cocktail.
Ingredients
- 1.5 oz gin of choice
- ¾ oz simple syrup
- Zest of 1/8 of a lime
- ¾ oz lime juice
- Zest of 1/8 of an orange
- ½ oz orange juice
- 1 wheel of lime, (as garnish)
- 1 slice of orange, (as garnish)
Instructions
- Chill your glass of choice.
- Combine the gin, simple syrup, lime zest, lime juice, orange zest, and orange juice in a shaker with ice.
- Shake for ten seconds.
- Strain drink into a chilled martini glass or cocktail glass.
- Garnish with a lime wheel and orange slice.
Notes
You can also make this using a sweetened lime juice mixer, such as Rose’s Lime Juice, if you don’t have access to the fresh lime and don’t want to make your own simple syrup.
