I love maple syrup with sweet breakfast foods like pancakes or waffles, but have
also find that it can work wonderfully as a flavor enhancer and sweetener in
cocktails.
Years ago, I came across a number of bourbon barrel-aged stout beers, where the
barrels had been used to store maple syrup after being used to store the bourbon,
before being used to store the stout beer. Very interesting layering of flavors!
