The world of spirits and liqueurs is larger than one might expect. While there are
new products hitting the market every month, there are certain world-famous
beverages that have been around for over 100 years. This cocktail recipe features
Cocchi Americano, a quinine-flavored apertif produced in the Asti province of
Italy since the1890s.
If you are unfamiliar with the flavor of quinine, think about the flavor associated
with most varietals of tonic water, which often have quinine added as an
ingredient. It has a unique, slightly botanical, and somewhat bitter flavor.
