
Bread Pudding with Rum Sauce
Ingredients
- 3 cups white bread, ( cubed)
- 2 cups milk
- 1 Tbsp. butter
- 4 eggs
- 2/3 cups sugar
- 1/2 cup raisins
- 1 tsp. ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg
- 2 tsp. vanilla
Rum Sauce:
- 1 cup milk 2 Tbsp
- brown sugar 1 Tbsp
- cornstarch 1 Tbsp
- dark rum
Instructions
- Place bread in an 8 x 8 inch baking dish.
- Combine milk and butter in a saucepan and cook over lo heat until butter is melted, allow it to cool slightly.
- Beat eggs and add to milk mixture.
- Add sugar, raisins, cinnamon, nutmeg and vanilla and pour over bread cubes.
- Bake for 30 minutes at 325 degrees, pour rum sauce over bread and bake an additional 10 minutes.
