Chocolate Chewies

Ingredients

  • Three quarters cup butter, (softened)
  • 1 and one third cups sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • Two thirds cup powdered cocoa
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 12 ozs. semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • Two thirds cup pecans, (chopped)

Instructions 

  • Cream together butter and sugar with an electric mixer, add eggs, flour, cocoa and baking powder and beat until blended
  • Stir in chocolate chips and pecans
  • Drop tablespoonfuls onto an ungreased baking sheet and bake at 350 degrees for 8 - 9 minutes
  • Allow cookies to cool for several minutes before removing from baking sheet
