Variations on Beef Stroganoff
- Stroganoff is beautiful in its potential diversity. Try any of these variations:
- Asian: Add soy sauce, fresh ginger, sesame seeds, and sesame oil to the sauce.
- Chicken: Substitute chicken for the beef (you can use ground chicken for a smooth sauce)
- Heat and Sweet: Add chili pepper or hot sauce to the stroganoff with a pinch of sugar.
- Pork: Cubed pork tenderloin for beef; add a hint of smoky paprika
- Seafood: Using white wine and extra garlic, seafood stroganoff tastes a bit like scampi. Shrimp and scallops are delectable when prepared this way.
- Turkey: Use diced turkey or ground for the beef (add in poultry seasoning)
- Vegetarian: Look to tofu for your “meat” addition.
- You might also try couscous instead of egg noodles.
