This Champagne cocktail is delicately flavored with Absinthe and Campari, and brightened by some acidity in the form of fresh lemon juice. The recipe below makes 1 cocktail.
Ingredients
1.5ozAbsinthe
1ozCampari
½ ozfreshly-squeezed lemon juice
2ozChampagne, or dry sparkling white wine of choice
1thin wedge of lemon,(as garnish)
Instructions
Combine the Absinthe, Campari, and freshly-squeezed lemon juice in a shaker with ice, and shake for 5 seconds.
Strain the liquid into a chilled glass.
Top with the Champagne, garnish with the thin wedge of lemon, and serve immediately.
Notes
For lovers of sweeter drinks, consider adding ½ oz of simple syrup to the cocktail when you are combining the ingredients in the shaker.A drop or two of orange bitters also goes quite nicely here.
