Put all the marinade ingredients in a sealable bag
Add the chicken tenders
Let them marinade for at least 6 hours in the refrigerator
Drain and set aside
Set up a charcoal grill
Let it get red hot
Leave the chicken strips until they have grill marks (these cook quickly. Don’t overcook).
Remove the chicken from the heat
Cool a bit
Take the lettuce and chicken and chop them together thoroughly
Slice the onion and tomato, adding both to the chicken blend
Chop it again
Sprinkle with cheese, barbecue sauce and chop it again.
Toast your sub-buns.
It’s tempting to fill your buns to overflowing, but these get messy. Hold back just a little and have napkins on hand.
