There are times where it can feel like there are too many liqueurs out there to try,and it’s hard to figure out which ones are actually worth buying. If you are unsureabout a new product, go to a bar you like and ask the bartender if you can pay tosample a few small sips of a few spirits or liqueurs. Crème de Cassis liqueur, made with blackcurrants, is an incredible product. This simple cocktail featuresnotes of blackcurrant, accented by some dry champagne and a dash of orangebitters. This following recipe makes 1 cocktail.
Ingredients
1ozCrème de Cassis Liqueur
4ozChampagne(chilled)
1dash of Orange Bitters
Instructions
Prepare a chilled champagne flute.
Add the chilled champagne, along with the Crème de Cassis liqueur and a dash of orange bitters on top.
You can stir this up if you like, but I like watching the interaction of the ingredients in the champagne flute as the liqueur falls to the bottom of the glass.
And it’s a fun alternative to the traditional mimosa.
Serve cold.
Notes
It’s important to start with all of the cocktail ingredients well-chilled, before you add them to the flute.
