Melon-Balled Piel de Sapo (Frog Skin Melon) with Fresh Mint and Honey
A melon-baller adds an extra touch of detail to this incredibly simple and healthy dessert. This melon is grown in states such as California, and is very popular in countries such as Spain. The flesh is light green, with a dark, green-patterned outer skin. It is very sweet, especially when fully ripened.
Ingredients
1whole Piel de Sapo melon
2Tbsphoney
A tiny sprinkle of Kosher salt
10whole mint leaves(finely sliced)
Instructions
Remove the skin of the melon using a sharp knife.
Use a small melon-baller to create melon balls.
Coat the melon balls in some honey, along with a tiny sprinkle of Kosher salt.
When you are ready to serve, finely slice the mint and mix with the melon.
Notes
Slice the mint right before serving, as the mint has a tendency to oxidize and turn brown after being cut.
