At first, you may be wary of the idea of grilling watermelon. But think of how you grill pineapple and the incredible flavor the process coaxes out of the fruit. Watermelon is no different. Add a savory-sweet sauce, and it’s a treat for your tastebuds.
When you grill watermelon, the natural sugars caramelize. Because watermelon isn’t dense, it will accept a slightly smoky edge. The fruit remains juicy but has a little more texture than a raw watermelon.
Consider serving with warm seasoned pita and Tzatziki sauce, along with Village Salad (Horiatiki)
