Egg cream coffee may not sound delicious at first, but it’s considered quite the treat in Vietnam. For those in the US, you’ll probably enjoy its silky, creamy, light sweetness, too. What Does Egg Cream Coffe Taste Like?
The first impression is a custard-like flavor. You could equate it to lattes or cappuccinos. Some even compare it to tiramisu but with a slightly sweeter impact.
Egg Cream Coffee
Ingredients
- 12 oz. strong espresso
- 2 large egg yolks
- 1-2 tbsp sweetened condensed milk
- 1 tsp sugar (optional)
- ¼-½ tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- Put the egg yolks and condensed milk into a pitcher
- Using a hand or emersion mixer, whip them together
- Continue until the volume doubles (there will be soft peaks)
- Fold in the vanilla
- Pour out the coffee, leaving room for the egg topping
- Add the whipped mixture and enjoy.
