There are a few classic drinks I rely on to beat the summer heat. One of my favorites is a classic summer strawberry daiquiri, made with a bunch of fresh strawberries, half of which are frozen the day before making this beverage.
This following recipe is for 2-3 large drinks.
Summer Strawberry Daiquiri
Ingredients
- 16 oz (1 lb) of fresh strawberries, hulls removed
- 4 oz rum
- Juice from ½ lime
- 1 oz simple syrup
Instructions
- Freeze half of the strawberries the day before you plan to make this cocktail. In a blender, add the fresh and frozen strawberries, and blend until you have a puree.
- *Reserve a few strawberries as a garnish.
- Pass the puree through a strainer or chinois to get rid of the majority of the seeds.
- Return the mixture to the blender, and add the remaining ingredients.
- Blend until smooth.
- Serve immediately, in chilled glasses, and garnish with a strawberry.
