Angel Food Cake

Ingredients

  • 1 and 1/4 cup flour
  • 1 and 1/4 cup sugar
  • 8 egg whites
  • 1 tsp. cream of tartar
  • 1/4 tsp. baking soda
  • 2 tsp. vanilla

Instructions 

  • Sift flour and 1/2 of the sugar
  • In a separate bowl, beat egg whites, cream of tartar and baking soda until soft peaks form
  • Add remaining sugar and continue to beat
  • Add vanilla and slowly add sifted flour and sugar mixture
  • Beat until you have a smooth batter
  • Pour batter into an ungreased bundt or tube pan and bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour or until golden brown
  • Allow cake to cool before removing from pan
