I had a friend I used to bartend with in Washington D.C. who would often end his shift on a hot summer night with what he described as a “white wine spritzer”. His version was just soda water from the soda gun splashed into a half-glass of cheap pinot grigio. It seemed funny to me at the time—yet now I completely get it. This Sweet Vermouth Spritz is an homage to Brian. The following recipe makes one cocktail. Enjoy.
Ingredients
3ozsparkling wine(like Prosecco, chilled)
2ozsweet vermouth(chilled)
1ozsoda water(chilled)
Twist of lemon(as garnish)
Instructions
Combine the chilled Prosecco, sweet vermouth, and soda water in a chilled glass.
