You wake up with a pounding headache and feel like a hairy dog. Yeah, overdoing it can happen to anyone. But what do you cook to help fix things?
Now, if you ask 100 people, they will give you 100 recipes. It has been a bone of contention among friends forever. The truth is, there is no one perfect cure for a hangover. Each person’s body responds differently.
There are a few generalities that come up again and again. The incredible egg helps breakdown toxins and provides protein. Carbs! This is one time when reaching for a carb won’t kill your diet. Think crackers, toast, rolls, and breadsticks. Carb-feeding balances the currently wonky blood sugar from alcohol.
Along a similar line, complex carbs are often comfort food. Have oatmeal. Mix it with a dollop of honey for energy.
Fruit bites. Melons have a lovely light flavor, bananas have potassium, pineapple, blueberries, and oranges all come to mind. You typically want to eat slowly, letting your body adjust. Add some yogurt to your blend.
