
Angel Food Cake
Ingredients
- 1 and 1/4 cup flour
- 1 and 1/4 cup sugar
- 8 egg whites
- 1 tsp. cream of tartar
- 1/4 tsp. baking soda
- 2 tsp. vanilla
Instructions
- Sift flour and 1/2 of the sugar
- In a separate bowl, beat egg whites, cream of tartar and baking soda until soft peaks form
- Add remaining sugar and continue to beat
- Add vanilla and slowly add sifted flour and sugar mixture
- Beat until you have a smooth batter
- Pour batter into an ungreased bundt or tube pan and bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour or until golden brown
- Allow cake to cool before removing from pan
